Two men robbed a restaurateur renting a room in Queens, forcing the victim to strip at knifepoint before they took off with his clothes and $30,000, cops said Thursday.
Jeffrey Cen, 22, and another man still sought by police, slipped into a room the 38-year-old victim was renting on Maple Ave. near College Point Blvd. in Flushing through an open door around 8:25 p.m. back on May 19, according to authorities .
Cops say Cen and a henchman wielding a knife ambushed the man when he left the bathroom, punching him in the face before Cen, speaking Mandarin, demanded he hand over his belongings.
The crooks forced the victim, who told police he was a restaurateur in town from Chicago, to strip down to his underwear before running off with his clothes, backpack, iPhone 6 and a wallet holding IDs, credit cards and $30,000.
The man suffered a minor injury to his face but refused medical attention.
Police in the NYPD’s 109th Precinct arrested Cen after identifying the suspect from surveillance footage at the scene, police said. Cen, who lives about a mile away in East Flushing, was charged with two counts of robbery, authorities said.
Police on Thursday released images of his alleged accomplice in hopes the public can help track him down.
He is described as black, about 25 years old and 6-feet tall.
