A photo posted on social media of a man holding a pistol next to a Bronx police car has sparked a manhunt, the Daily News has learned.
A threatening photo posted on social media of a man holding a pistol next to a Bronx police car has sparked a manhunt, the Daily News has learned.
The alarming image shows a young man brandishing a pistol in his right hand as he poses next to a marked NYPD patrol car while another man peers into the passenger window. It was posted online Friday, police said.
The patrol car is from the 45th Precinct, which covers Co-Op City and City Island.
Kelvin Rodriguez (c.) was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and making terroristic threats.
The photo was shared on social media among cops with a message, apparently from a concerned officer, added at top: "Allegedly taken today. Stay on your f--king toes. Always be cognizant of your surroundings. Our safety glass and ballistic panels are an illusion. SHARE IT."
Cops say they tracked down the man seen holding the gun near Frisby Ave. and Roland St. in Parkchester about 2 a.m. Sunday. He was still wearing the same low-slung orange pants as in the photo when arrested.

They charged Kelvin Rodriguez, 21, with criminal possession of a weapon and making terroristic threats.
Authorities are still looking for the second man in the photo.
Police officials said they do not yet know if any officers were in the car when the disturbing photo was taken.
